Study on Characteristic Complements of Zhuang Language

壮语虽有一部分补语类型与汉语的一致,但也有一部分属壮本民族语所特有,如“象声补语”、“方式补语”、“比况补语”、“原因补语”、“能为补语”、“数词补语”、“量词补语”、“使成补语”等。

Zhuang language is very similar to Chinese in grammar because the former has been affected by the latter for a long time. So some types of Zhuang complements are the same as those of Chinese ones such as 揷omplement of degree? 搕ime complement? 搉umeral-classifier complement? 損lace complement? 揹irectional complement?and so on. But there are certainly differences in grammar between two distinct languages. And Zhuang and Chinese are just two distinct languages, and so their grammars must be both similar and different. Therefore, some of Zhuang complements are necessarily different from those of Chinese ones though some of them are the same. The complements of Zhuang different from Chinese ones are as follows: ①onomatopoeical complement ②manner complement ③figurative complement ④causal complement ⑤can-do complement ⑥numeral complement ⑦classifier complement ⑧enabling complement. In the past, few people knew these characteristic complements of Zhuang hidden under the surface of the misunderstanding of the same grammars between Zhuang and Chinese. Today we make them known to everyone through our deep excavation.
