胡以鲁:中国现代语音学理论之先声

Hu Yilu: Pioneer of Chinese Modern Phonetics Theory

胡以鲁《国语学草创》是中国学者系统引介西方现代语音学理论的第一本著作。胡以鲁把西方现代语音学理论和中国传统音韵学理论紧密结合,以章太炎成均图的阴声韵部为音值依托,结合Hellwag的“元音三角形”理论阐释汉语元音的发音机制,运用西方现代语音学理论重新解读成均图的阳声韵韵尾音值并修订成均图各韵部的排列次序,深入探讨成均图旁转、对转的本质,为我们进一步认识章太炎成均图的理论内涵及其二十三韵部的具体音值提供了新视角。

Hu Yilu's Guoyuxue Caochuang《国语学草创》is the first book to introduce the theory of the modern western phonetics to China.Drawing on insights from the western modern phonetics and the traditional Chinese phonology,Hu developed a new interpretation for the articulatory mechanisms in the Chinese vowels,based on discussions of the Yin rhymes in Zhang Taiyan's Cheng Yun Tu(成均图)and the perspective of Hellwag's theory of Vowel Triangle.Then he reinterpreted the Yang rhymes by providing phonetic values to their endings,rearranged their order,and explored the properties of Pang Zhuan(旁转)and Dui Zhuan(对转).By doing so,Hu offered new perspectives into understanding the theoretical framework of the Cheng Yun Tu,and the phonetic values of the 23 rhymes.
