《元音研究》述评

Review of The Vowel:A General Introduction with Reference to Chinese Data

元音是语音研究的重要对象,但在相当长的一段时间里,国内学界对于元音的认识有所偏差。中国社会科学院语言研究所胡方研究员撰写的《元音研究》一书结合国内外最新成果及其本人的研究,在以实验证据为导向的新描写主义视野下,厘清了传统上对元音的错误认识,并基于对复合元音在音系中地位的探讨,提出了“元音的动态理论”,对元音的概念、特征及其发音、声学和感知进行了较为系统和全面的阐述。

The vowel is an important object of phonetic research.However,for a long period of time,the domestic academic circle has some deviations in the understanding of vowels.The Vowel:A General Introduction with Reference on Chinese Data written by HU Fang,a senior research fellow from the Institute of Linguistics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences,combines latest results,both home and abroad,in the study of vowels and his own research.In the framework of experimental descriptivism,it clarifies misunderstandings of vowels,and puts forward the“Dynamic Theory of Vowels”based on discussion of the status of compound vowels in phonology.The book offers a systematic and comprehensive account of the concept and features of vowels as well as their articulation,acoustics and perception.
