以文补白——当代中国学术本土话语重新出场的一种可能选择

Using Classical Chinese to Supplement Vernacular Chinese:A Possible Choice for the Re-establishment of Aboriginal Discourse of Contemporary Chinese Academia

从话语的层面深度挖掘中国学术本土资源,彰显其当代价值和世界意义,无疑是从文化底层逻辑重绘中国学术地图的奠基之举,极富前瞻性。回归中国学术传统,建构本土话语体系,一种可能的选择就是文言文的重新出场。随着时代的发展,白话文早已取代文言文,成为当今学术表达的正宗文体,文言文想完全恢复到当年一统天下的局面是完全不可能的。但若能“以文补白”,充分发挥文言文在当代学术重建中的“补白”作用,实现文言与白话并行不悖,共臻于极致,对中华传统文化的创造性转化、创新性发展是大有助益的。这是因为:第一,文言文是中华文化之根,以文言文写就的历代典籍是中国至为重要的本土话语与学术资源;第二,以文补白,正确处理好文言文与白话文的关系始终是中国学术话语体系重建绕不开的话题;第三,当代文言文的重新出场,是找回文化自信,重建对域外民族文化优势的重要手段。

It is undoubtedly a groundbreaking and forward-looking move to redraw the academic map of China from the bottom logic of culture through excavating aboriginal Chinese academic resources from the layer of discourse and highlight its contemporary value and significance for the world. To return to Chinese academic tradition and construct its aboriginal discourse system, a possible choice is making classical Chinese appear on the scene again. With the development of the times, vernacular Chinese has long replaced classical Chinese and become the authentic style of academic writing. It is impossible for classical Chinese to completely recapture its position of dominance. However, if we can “use classical Chinese to supplement vernacular Chinese”, make full use of the supplementary role of classical Chinese in contemporary academic reconstruction, allow coexistence of both classical Chinese and vernacular Chinese, and make them reach the acme together, it will be greatly beneficial to the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional Chinese culture. This is because: first, classical Chinese is the root of Chinese culture, and ancient books written in classical Chinese are the most important aboriginal discourse and academic resources in China;second, it is a necessary topic for the reconstruction of Chinese academic discourse system to appropriately handle the relationship between classical Chinese and vernacular Chinese;third, the re-appearance of contemporary classical Chinese is an important means to regain cultural confidence and rebuild Chinese cultural advantages in contrast to foreign cultures.
