新中国成立后,为迅速恢复国民经济,周恩来作出了一系列决策部署,亲自参与了大量工作:把恢复工农业生产作为中心任务,稳定物价,安定民生。正确掌握和运用政策,参与领导土地改革和镇压反革命运动。始终重视水利工程建设,首抓根治淮河工程和亲抓荆江分洪工程。参与旨在建设清廉政府、打击不法资本第一仗的三反五反运动。重视人才培养,广泛团结知识分子,亲历指导教育事业。推动科学研究机构组建和科学事业发展。对新中国文化事业给予极大关怀,推动各项文化事业发展。奠基体育事业,对体育运动发展寄予厚望。坚持中西医发展并重,初创新中国医疗卫生事业。

After the founding of the PRC,Zhou Enlai,devoted himself to restore the national economy as quickly as possible,made a series of decisions and plans and was engaged in much of the work,setting restoring industrial and agricultural production as the central task,promoting stable prices and improving living standards.He correctly grasped and applied policies,engaged in leading the movements of land reform and suppressing counterrevolutionary.He attached great importance to water conservancy projects,serving as the chief leader of the Huaihe River conservancy project and taking charge of the flood diversion project of the Jingjiang River.He engaged himself in the campaigns against the“Three Evils”and the“Five Evils”which was aimed to build a clean government and crack down on illegal capitals.He attached importance to talent development,broadly uniting the intellectuals,and personally giving guidance to the educational undertakings.He promoted the establishment of scientific research institutions and the development of scientific undertakings.He paid great concern to the cultural undertakings of the New China,promoting the development of various cultural undertakings.He laid the foundation for the sports undertakings and put high expectations for the development.He highlighted importance to both the development of traditional Chinese medicine and the western medicine and laid the groundwork for China’s medical and health services.
