An Overview of the CPC’s International Work in the Past Century:On its Innovations at Historic Turnings

回顾党的对外工作百年的丰富实践和理论成就,必须从"方法论"角度搞清楚:如何从总体上认识和把握这一百年,如何认识和评价新中国成立后的前30年,如何论证和概括新时期改革开放的历史必然性和必要性,如何认识和理解党的相关理论创新的历史和理论逻辑,以致最后回答党的对外工作状况究竟发生了哪些变化。百年党的对外工作经历了"三个阶段"(30年——30年——40年)、现在处于"两重定位"(既是整个党的事业的一条重要战线,又是国家总体外交的组成部分)、始终坚持着"一个结合"(理论与实践相结合)。

To review the experience and theoretical achievements of the Party’s international exchanges and communications over the past century,we should clarify the following issues from the perspective of"methodology":how to view it globally in the past century,how to understand and appraise the work in the first 30 years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China,how to interpret and summarize the inevitability and necessity for adopting reform and opening up in the new era,how to perceive and understand the history and theoretical logic of the Party’s theoretical innovations,so as to work out the answers to the changes in the Party’s external work.The Party’s international work has gone through"three stages"(30 years-30 years-40 years)in the past century,are now tasked with"dual roles"(i.e.,being an important front of the Party’s cause,and an integral part of the state diplomacy),and it always adheres to the principle of combining theory with practice.
