走出“自己”,遇见“异己”——论叶秀山的中西哲学双向融通

Beyond Myself and Encounter with Others: On Mutual Accommodation of Chinese Philosophy and Western Philosophy in Ye Xiushan’s Research

哲学应该是一门通学,要研究真正的哲学问题,必须打破中西、古今、学科的壁垒。很多哲学家尽管进路不同却都在做融通的工作,叶秀山先生也不例外。他的古希腊哲学、德国古典哲学、近现代西方哲学研究始终贯穿着对激发中国传统哲学的思考。本文以知识论、存在论为框架,分析叶先生融通中西哲学的研究心得。他认为中西哲学在认识论上走向了分离,却在存在论上迎面相遇。他援西入中唤醒中国哲学;援中入西激活西方哲学。他所从事的译介、研究、沟通、比较、互补的工作,是一种跨文化的交流与对话,形成了中西哲学双向融通的特色。

Philosophy should be interdisciplinary.In the history of philosophy,many philosophers have engaged in the work of accommodation between different approaches,breaking through the boundaries between China and the West and the ancient and the modern as well as those among different disciplines.Ye Xiushan is one of those philosophers.His research on ancient Greek philosophy,German classical philosophy,and modern Western philosophy is permeated with thoughts on stimulating Chinese traditional philosophy.Ye thinks that Chinese philosophy and Western philosophy have been separated from each other in epistemology,but meet each other in ontology.With the ambition of awakening Chinese philosophy and activating Western philosophy,he has made his work of translation,research,communication,comparison,and complementarity a kind of cross-cultural communication and dialogue.His approach thus embodies the mutual accommodation of both Chinese and Western philosophy.
