A Review of Yu Dunkang’s Approach to Yi Studies

余敦康先生的易学研究以中国文化为本位,内含中国哲学的立场又试图超越这一立场。余先生不仅系统重阐了《周易》的种种基本问题,发掘了《周易》崭新的文化史意义,更通过对易学史的长时段考察激活了有关易学哲学与时代关系问题的思考。而宗旨的明确、方法的自觉以及论述的体系与完整,都使得余先生的易学研究令人信服地确立起现代中国哲学《周易》研究的一种典范。

Yu Dunkang’s approach to Yi studies are based on Chinese culture,taking the standpoint of Chinese philosophy and trying to transcend it.Yu,in his research,not only gives an original systematic explanation of some basic problems of the Book of Changes,discovers the new significance of the Book of Changes in the field of cultural history,but also activated the thinking about the relationship between the philosophy of Yi and its history by his long-term investigation of the history of Yi Studies.Having the clarity of purpose,the consciousness of methodology,and the system and completeness of the discussion,Yu’s research on Yi studies convincingly established a model for modern Chinese Yi Studies in the field of Chinese philosophy.
