周祖譔先生的古典文学研究

Mr. Zhou Zuzhuan’s Classical Literature Study

周祖譔先生曾长期在厦门大学中文系工作,在古典文学研究领域取得了卓越的成就。周先生的《隋唐五代文学史》是中华人民共和国成立后出版的第一部断代文学史,既注重揭示文学与其他历史文化现象的关联,又探寻文学自身的发展规律,具有较大的学术典范意义。周先生在众多学术论文里展示了系统、务实的方法论,其中最重要的"文史互证"理念产生于清代,成熟于陈寅恪与浦江清等,被周先生运用到炉火纯青的境界,又传于吴在庆等弟子。周先生主编的《中国文学家大辞典·唐五代卷》《历代文苑传笺证》都与古代文学家的生平资料直接相关,前者在"求全""求实"两方面都几乎接近极致;后者的贡献主要在追溯史源、鉴别史料、裨补阙漏三个方面。周祖譔先生的高尚人格与学术成就,是厦门大学中文系的一笔永久的财富。

Mr.Zhou Zuzhuan worked in the Department of Chinese of Xiamen University for a long time and made remarkable achievements in the field of classical literature study.Mr.Zhou Zuzhuan’s literary history of Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties is the first book of dynastic literary his tory published after the founding of the people’s Republic of China.It not only focuses on revea ling the relationship between literature and other historical and cultural phenomena,but also ex plores the law of the development of literature itself,which is of great academic significance.Mr.Zhou showed systematic and practical methodology in many academic papers.The most important idea of"mutual proof of literature and history"in these papers,which originated in the Qing Dy nasty and matured in Chen Yinque and PuJiang Qing,was used very skillfully by Mr.Zhou and passed on to his disciples such as Wu Zaiqing.The dictionaries of Chinese writers,volumes of Tang and Five Dynasties and notes on biographies of writers of all ages edited by Mr.Zhou are all direct ly related to the biographical information of ancient writers.The former is close to the acme in both"seeking perfection"and"seeking truth";the latter’s contributions are mainly in three aspects:tracing the source of history,identifying historical materials and helping to fill the gaps.Mr.Zhou Zuzhuan’s noble character and academic achievements are permanent wealth of the Chinese De partment of Xiamen University.
