Modern Transformation of Church Architecture

受到礼拜仪式的革新、新材料与新技术的发展与理性思想的传播等影响,宗教空间在19世纪末20世纪初受到了建筑师新的审视。他们通过对敬神和礼拜形式本原的重新认识、对新材料与新技术的大胆运用与对雕塑般的艺术式空间的初步尝试而建立起新的宗教形式与空间,使古老的教堂形式开始了走向现代主义风格的革命性旅程,并最终在功能、技术、艺术三方面使教堂完成了现代主义的转型。

Influenced by the innovation of liturgy,the development of new materials and technologies,and the spread of rational ideas,religious space was examined by architects at the end of the 19 th century.They established new religious forms and space by re-recognizing the original forms of worship,bold application of new materials and technologies,and attempts at creating sculptural artistic space.These are the reasons making ancient churches change towards modernist style in respect of function,technology and art.The three aspects make the church complete the transformation to modernism.
