摘要
媒介技术的发展压缩了时间与空间,社交媒体的崛起使我们在社交网络环境中被来自各个时间和空间维度的信息裹挟,由此衍生并显化了错失焦虑现象,即用户对最新信息的渴望与焦虑心理。本研究讨论错失焦虑对社交媒体使用程度的影响,并从心理需求满足和负面情绪角度出发,探讨错失焦虑作为一种社交时代的新状态出现的原因。研究采用网络调查的方式,派发并回收了303份问卷。研究发现,错失焦虑对社交媒体使用有显著的促进作用,错失焦虑越高,社交媒体使用程度越高。此外,在成因方面,社交焦虑和孤独感对错失焦虑有显著的影响。社交焦虑与错失焦虑呈正相关,即社交焦虑越高,错失焦虑越高。孤独感与错失焦虑呈负相关,即孤独感越低,错失焦虑越高。
The development of media technology has compressed time and space.The rise of social media has exposed us to a large amount of information from different time and space,which generates and magnifies anxiety about following up the updates,that is fear of missing out(FoMO).This study exploded how FoMO impacted the usage of social media and why FoMO came into being in the era of social media from psychological perspectives.Researchers conducted an online survey and the sample consisted of 303 college-lge media users.The study found that FoMO signifcandy increased the usage of social media.Users with higher degree of FoMO were prone to spend more time on social media.Furthermore,with regard to the psychological cause of FoMO,social anxiety and loneliness significantly influenced FoMO.People who experienced severer social anxiety were more likely to have higher degree of FoMO.However,those lower in loneliness were susceptible to experience higher degree of FoMO.Implications of the study about FoMO are discussed.
