An Analysis of Peter Shaffer’s Thought of Irrationalism:An Analysis——Based on Equus

谢弗对非理性主义的认识来源于理性主义和非理性主义的对峙冲突,随着科学的发展,人们对理性的过度推崇,导致了工具理性主义思维盛行,技术效益和社会价值成为重心,精神生活的幸福感逐渐丧失,人类的主体性异化。英国剧作家彼得˙谢弗一直致力于研究人与社会的关系,重视人的个性自由与社会秩序规范协调发展。提出人类只有寻求信仰和精神的上帝才能逃脱理性主义的桎梏。创作观念呈现为:游离在“中心”的边缘写作;理性的规训与人性的抗争。本文以他的戏剧文学作品《伊库斯》为例,探究理性代表人物狄萨特对艾伦个体自由本性的规训管制以及艾伦用强烈的、原始的情感力量反抗狄萨特的理性强权。狄萨特理性身份遭到解构,唤醒了对非理性自我的觉醒与反思。谢弗的戏剧《伊库斯》对当今人们认识工具理性的膨胀和聆听信仰的召唤有着重要的警醒意义。

Shaffer's understanding of non Rationalism from the confrontation between Rationalism and non Rationalism.With the development of science,people's excessive admiration for rationality has led to the prevalence of Instrumental and value rationality,the focus of technological benefits and social values,the gradual loss of happiness in spiritual life,and the alienation of human subjectivity.British playwright Peter Shaffer has always been committed to studying the relationship between humans and society,emphasizing the coordinated development of individual freedom and social order norms.It is proposed that only God who seeks belief and spirit can escape the shackles of Rationalism.The creative concept is presented as:writing at the edge of the"center";The discipline of reason and the struggle against humanity.This article takes his dramatic literary work Equus as an example to explore the discipline and regulation of the individual free nature of Allen by the representative character of reason,Disart,and Allen's strong and primitive emotional strength in resisting Disart's rational power.Di Sartre's rational identity was deconstructed,awakening and reflecting on his irrational self.Shaffer's drama Equus has an important wake-up significance for today's people to understand the expansion of Instrumental and value rationality and listen to the call of faith.
