顾振年谱

A Chronology of Chen Ku’s Life

顾振,江苏无锡人,1914年因庚款资助赴美国康奈尔大学学习,很早参与中国科学社、中国工程学会,第一批资助《独立评论》创刊会员。回国后顾振从路政界进入开滦矿务总局工作,后任该局首任华人总经理,与英国总经理共同为最高领导。开滦工作期间顾振加入南京国民政府国防设计委员会,并于1936年以资源委员会代表团主任身份访德,签订《中德信用贷款合同》,1938年意外逝世。顾振作为典型人物,完整履历资料阙如,通过整合可见资料形成此年谱,希裨益于民国人物研究。

Chen Ku was born in Wuxi,Jiangsu province in China.He went to study at Cornell University under the support of Boxer Indemnity remission.He participated Science Society of China,Chinese Society of Engineering at their start-up stage and sponsored the start publication of Independent Review.Returning home from abroad,Ku worked for transportation then in Kailan Mining Administration,later being the Chinese Chief Manager of Kailan,first counterpart of the English Chief Manager.Ku also joined National Defense Planning Committee,later visited Germany as the chief delegate of the National Resources Commission and signed Credit Loan Contract.Ku died in 1938 in an accident.This chronicle is the first compilation of Chen Ku.
