In 1956,director Sang Hu adapted the film Blessing,which received a strong response at home and abroad.Its influence still lasts today and it has become one of the classic films in China for one hundred years.One of the most important reasons for its success is the integrity and innovation of its film adaptation.The film image narrative structure underlines the theme of“cannibalism”of feudal virtue and morality and the image of“public exposure”to show the numbness and cruelty of human nature,which highlights the essence of Lu Xun’s original work Blessing.The innovation of the narrative structure manifesting the national will in the 1950s and the image theme expression of the juxtaposition of spirit and economy has completed the popular public image expression of the classic works,which provided a successful example for the adaptation of famous works.
