《利维坦》汉译本的译者主体性与文化选择——以陆道夫、黎思复译本为例

On Translator’s Subjectivity and Its Cultural Choice in Chinese Translation of Leviathan——Based on Chinese Translation Version of LU Dao-fu and LI Si-fu

《利维坦》是英国哲学家托马斯·霍布斯呕心沥血完成的西方政治学十大经典名著之一,蕴含了霍布斯睿智的国家观和人性论,为后世提供了宝贵的治国理念和执政为民之道。国内出版的《利维坦》汉译本有五六种之多,不同的译本有不同的翻译维度和不同的翻译策略,译者的主体性体现也因而有所差异。本文以黎思复主译的《利维坦》和陆道夫主译的《利维坦》为例,重点对比分析译者主体性在这两个汉译本中表现出的差异及其翻译策略和文化选择,对当下人文社会科学经典的重译应有所启发。

Renowned as one of the top ten classics of western political science completed by British philosopher Thomas Hobbes,Leviathan contains Hobbes’wise views of the state and the theory of human nature and provides valuable governing ideas and concept of governing for the people for later generations.There are at least five or six translated versions of Leviathan published in China.Different versions have different translation dimensions and translation strategies,so the subjectivity of translators is different.This paper takes LI Si-fu’s Leviathan and LU Dao-fu’s Leviathan as examples to focus on the comparison and analysis of the differences between the translator’s subjectivity in the two Chinese versions,as well as the translation strategies and cultural choices,so as to provide some enlightenments for the retranslation of the classics of humanities and social sciences.
