A Study of the Anterior Pectoral Nerve for Modified Radical Mastectomy

根据改良的乳癌根切术中为保存胸大小肌的形态和功能必须保存其神经的要求,在60侧成人尸体上观察了胸外侧神经和胸内侧神经与胸小肌、胸大肌各部各区的分布关系。据此提出了手术中保护神经的设计,并将之应用于临床实际。

As the anterior pectoral nereve must be preserved for the conservationof the pectoral muscle function during modified radical mastectomy,theauthors studied the anterior pectoral nerve and its relation with the pectoralmuscles on 30 Chinese adult cadavers.The anterior pectoral nerve consists oftwo groups of branches,the lateral pectoral nerve and medial pectoral nerve.Each group could be divided into 3 types.There is generally a nerve loop be-tween two groups and more than one communicating rami among several majorbranches.Based on the study,a new device was proposed to protect the anteriorpectoral nerve from operative damage,which has been successfully practised in6 cases.
