The main clinical manifestations of patients with the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)are hypoxemia and dyspnea,and in severe cases acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)develops.In Wuhan,where the COVID-19 occurs,our hospital is used as a designated fever clinic in the city,under the well-planned deployment of the nursing department.When admitting and caring for patients,nursing staff actively monitor and observe the patients’saturation,identify patients with low saturation as early as possible,and intervene as early as possible,which reflects the specialty and plays a positive role in the timely treatment and even rehabilitation of patients and avoiding adverse consequences,and also gains a valuable advance for the treatment of some critically ill patients.
