Sevoflurane pretconditioning has similar effects as sevoflurane postconditioning to attenuate transient outward potassium channel current suppression after ischemia reperfusion injury

Objective To investigate the effects of sevoflurane preconditioning and postconditioning on electrophysiological characteristics of transient outward potassium channel(Ito)in rat ventricular myocytes.Methods Isolated rat hearts were harvested and balanced with Langendorff perfusion system,then they were randomly assigned to one of the following 4 groups(n=10):(1)Time Control group(perfused with KH solution for 75 min);(2)Ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)group(perfused with KH solution for 20 min and then subjected to 25 min of global ischemia followed by 30 min of reperfusion with KH solution).
