Four Most Basic Elements in Machine Cognition

摘要 利用认知物理学的方法,从认知的源头,即认知的形式化谈起,从宇宙构成的“单要素(物质)说”,到工具构成的“二要素(物质和结构)说”,再到动力机器构成的“三要素(物质、结构和能量)说”,再发展到机器认知构成的“四要素(物质、结构、能量和时间)说”,深入展开,层层递进,从思维的自动化跃升到认知的自成长。用“认知四要素说”解释典型认知事件,如解释爱因斯坦的质能方程,西蒙的“物理符号系统假设”的局限,以及机器对圆周率精度暴力计算的贡献。随着Chat GPT得到全球的广泛使用和认可,继对话图灵测试常态化之后,人工智能的下一个里程碑将是具身图灵测试常态化。 Using the methodology of cognitive physical science,the paper begins by addressing the origin of cognition—the formalization of cognition.This progresses from the“matter theory”explaining the universe’s composition,to“the two most basic elements”of tools,which are“matter and structure”.It expands to“the three most basic elements(matter,structure,energy)”that compose power machines.Finally,the exploration reaches“the four most basic elements(matter,structure,energy,time)”constituting machine cognition,delving deeply and progressing in layers.These four cognition elements are distinct and comprehensive,without any overlap,inclusion,or mutual exclusion.“The four most basic cognitive elements theory”is applied to explain typical cognitive events,such as Einstein’s mass-energy equation,Simon’s hypothesis of the“physical symbol system”,and the cognition of the mathematical constant PI’s precision by both humans and machines.As ChatGPT becomes increasingly integrated into global usage,following the normalization of the dialogue Turing test,the subsequent significant advancement in AI will involve the normalization of an embodied Turing test.
