According to modern ideas, there is no doubt that Chinese calligraphy is regarded as art. However,“art”as a word in sense of western culture is translated from Japanese into Chinese until modern China, for this reason,it seems that the two corresponding relation is not so easy as we have known. In the communication between Chinese and Western culture, due to the similarity of calligraphy and art,Chinese calligraphy could be spread by the name of“art”.But when we compare Kant’s art theory with traditional Chinese calligraphy,we shall find that we cannot simply equate western art with Chinese calligraphy. In short, the form-change of writing is just one part of calligraphy,by contrast, the new ideas and different emotions of writing is more important for Chinese calligraphy, and just the national feature of Chinese calligraphy make itself stand out in the world culture.
