On Case-Study Discussion Methods in Internationalized Business Classroom

在全球商科教育国际化背景下,来自世界各国的学生进行商务案例小组研讨,通过合作探究新知,提升风险预判能力和跨文化沟通能力。本研究跟踪一组中英分地培养国际商务本科生在英国商学院参与混合式案例讨论的过程,重点分析了中国留学生话题操控及其对他人观点的回应方式,挖掘出螺旋式、个人式和累积式三种小组讨论方法,展示了参与者独特的自我反思的自主学习策略。研究结果对国内外商科教育项目的ESP课程设置有一定启示。

Under the background of business education globalization,students from different parts of the world participate in mixed case study group discussion to improve their abilities of risk forecast and intercultural communication through collaborative exploration.This study examines the case study group discussion process involving a group of Chinese undergraduates participating in a split-site degree programme and their English speaking partners.Three group discussion approaches of spiral,individual and cumulative methods were uncovered by analyzing the Chinese students’strategies of manipulating topics and reaction to others’opinions.These‘Chinese approaches’demonstrate unique autonomous learning strategies of self-refection and in-group talk.It is hoped that the findings can have some implications for the ESP course design of business partnership degree programmes.
