摘要
翻译是一种理性参与的实践活动,译者行为是译者理性操控的结果。本文以伍尔芙小说《达洛维夫人》转述话语汉译为个案,分析理性对译者行为的影响。在"真实性""真诚性"和"正当性"三大有效性的指导下,译者"语言内"求真,"语言外"务实,同时兼顾译文的合理性。三个有效性要求共存于翻译实践,会因具体的翻译语境而凸显,由此生成译内或译外行为,促生译文的合理度。
Translation is a social practice involved in rationality,and thus the translator behavior is manipulated by the translator’s rationality.This paper tends to illustrate the role that rationality plays in translator behavior,based on a case study of the Chinese translation of reported discourses in Mrs.Dalloway by V.Woolf.Under the validity claims to truth,truthfulness and rightness,the translator aims at seeking truth in intra-translation,attaining utility in extra-translation and realizing the rationality in the target texts.The three validity claims are all embodied in the translating practice with one prominent in the particular translating context,which may lead to the intra or extra translation behavior to maximize the degree of rationality.
