爱尔兰语复兴的现状及其反思

Reflections on the Irish Language Revival Movement

爱尔兰政府多年来一直致力于复兴爱尔兰语,但该语言政策并未取得明显成效。本文分析了影响爱尔兰语言复兴的若干因素,发现语言政治色彩过重、过于强调学校教育的作用、语言使用环境缺失、民众缺乏积极语言态度是阻碍爱尔兰语言复兴的四个关键原因。为促进爱尔兰语言复兴,本文从加强科技手段运用,构建虚拟语言社区,以及提升语言认同等方面提出了一些政策建议。

For many years,the Irish government has been committed to reviving the Irish language,but its language policy has not achieved convincing results.This paper aims to analyze the factors affecting the revival of Irish language.It is found that the overpoliticization of their language policy,over-emphasis on the role of school education,the lack of language use domain and negative attitude of the Irish general public are the four major reasons that hinder the revival.In order to promote it,this paper puts forward some suggestions on a goal-directed language policy,i.e.better application of science and technology in the effort,building a vital virtual speech community,and stressing language identity.
