Analysis of the Doubtful Meaning of Six Words in Dictionary

本文從字形訛誤的角度,對《漢語大字典》和《漢語大詞典》中“咴”“喭”“瑑”“■”“欀”“湤”等六字的詞義進行翔實的辨析,認爲“咴”“喭”皆爲“咳”之誤,指“小兒笑”;“瑑”係“琢”之誤,義爲雕刻;“■”是“柟”之誤,義爲楠木;“欀”係“榱”之誤,指屋椽;“湤”爲“漩”之誤,指水流轉貌。兩種辭書中所載這六字的音義均不可據,當删。

From the perspective of analyzing incorrect character forms,this paper makes a detailed explanation of the meanings of the following six words:huī咴,yàn喭,zhuàn瑑,■,xiāng欀and shī湤in the Chinese Dictionary of Characters and the Chinese Dictionary of Words.We believed that咴and喭are the incorrect character forms of hái咳,which means child’s laughter;zhuàn瑑is the incorrect character form of zhuó琢,which means carving;■is the incorrect character form of nán柟,which means a kind of tree named nánmù楠木;xiāng欀is the incorrect character forms of cuī榱,which means rafters;shī湤is the incorrect character forms of xuán漩,which means swirling current.The pronunciation and meaning of these six words in both dictionaries are unreliable and should be deleted.
