“一带一路”背景下的翻译专业研究生教育——以南方某师范大学的MTI项目为例

Graduate Education of the Program Master of Translation and Interpretation in the Context of Belt and Road:a Case Study of MTI Program in a Normal University in South China

在"一带一路"倡议的大背景下,翻译专业研究生培养应该主动抓住国家发展的机遇,迎接挑战,搞好专业建设和学科发展,培养出符合"一带一路"倡议所需要的全方位、多领域的高级专门翻译人才。从南方某师范大学的MTI项目来看,它的成就是大部分国内高校的努力目标,它的不足也在各高校中不同程度地存在,比如教师在翻译实践上的经验不足(尤其是口译经验),生源的学科背景单一,毕业论文选题文学翻译比例偏高。改进的办法包括:聘请专业的翻译人员(尤其是口译人员)和外籍教师参与教学工作,拓宽翻译专业研究生招生的学科范围,在开题阶段对学位论文的选题进行引导。

In the grand context of"the Belt and Road"initiative,graduate education of the program Master of Translation and Interpretation(MTI)should take the initiative in grasping the opportunity of state development and meeting the challenge so as to better carry out academic construction and discipline development which,in turn,benefits the graduate education in fostering all-embracing and high-level talents of translation and interpretation.Viewed from the MTI program of a normal university in South China,its achievements are the goals of most universities while its disadvantages are also shared by most peers.For instance,some instructors lack sufficient experience in translation,even less in interpretation,disciplinary background of graduate candidates is not broad enough,and a high proportion of graduates choose literary text as their MA thesis data.Solutions comprise of inviting professional translators(especially interpretors)and foreign teachers to join the staff,broaden the academic sources of admission and guide the selection of research topics.
