A New Pod Pepper Hybrid‘Maohong 5’

‘茂红5号’是以细胞核雄性不育系MH499-2-1为母本,自交系MS12-1-1为父本杂交育成的单生朝天椒新品种。果皮光亮,成熟前绿色,成熟后红色;果实为指形小尖椒,椒条顺直,纵径8.0~9.0cm,横径0.9~1.1 cm,单果约5 g;肉厚,硬度强,中高辣,辣椒素含量0.6%,维生素C含量1050 mg·kg^-1,可干鲜两用。中抗病毒病、炭疽病和疫病,耐热耐旱性强,耐寒性中等。中早熟,适宜广东早春和秋季种植。

‘Maohong 5’(Capsicum annuum L.)is a new pod pepper cultivar derived from the nuclear male sterile line MH499-2-1 and the male parent MS12-1-1.The peel is bright,green before ripening and red after ripening.The fruit is little finger shape,with straight strip,8.0-9.0 cm in longitudinal diameter,0.9-1.1 cm in transverse diameter,and about 5 g in single fruit.The fruit is thick in flesh,strong in hardness,with capsaicin content of 0.6%and vitamin C content of 1050 mg·kg^-1,which can be used for both dry and fresh food.It is characterized by moderate antiviral disease,anthrax and Phytophthora blight,strong heat and drought resistance,and moderate cold resistance.It is suitable for planting in early spring and autumn in Guangdong.
