摘要
英国复辟喜剧自形成以来就因为剧中反复出现的婚外情主题,被贴上了"失德"和"猥亵"的标签。但是,这种异性间私通关系的成因并非出于生理欲望,而是出于同性间的心理竞争,其目的是为了彰显男性的个人气质与社交魅力。这种畸形的人际关系反映出复辟时期宫廷文化和霍布斯学说对复辟喜剧的影响。
As a genre,the Restoration comedy was labeled from the very start as“immoral”and“profane”,because of its repetitive theme of extramarital affairs.However,the motive of these affairs is not so much the human sexual desire as the male homosocial rivalry which was prevalent in the Restoration culture.The aim is to display personal masculinity and social superiority.These distorted interpersonal relationships reflect the influences of the court culture as well as the Hobbesian theory about human desire.
