A Review of Studies on the Age of the Li(历)Type Oracle Inscriptions

断代是甲骨研究的基础,历类卜辞的时代是甲骨断代的焦点问题。传统认为历类卜辞属第四期卜辞,李学勤将其年代提前到第一期,引发了激烈的讨论。这场讨论是一场甲骨断代观念、方法、成果的革命,讨论的背景、焦点及立足历类早期说的研究成果,都值得进一步发掘,为解决历类卜辞时代问题提供契机,但学界对其源流尚乏细致全面的梳理。

Age-dating is one of the basic studies of oracle bones,while the age of the Li(历)type oracle inscriptions still remains disputable.Li(历)type oracle inscriptions had been situated in the fourth period according to the five-period theory until Li Xueqin put it ahead,which triggered a most fierce discussion.The previous concepts and methods of the dating of oracle bones was seriously challenged in this discussion,which calls for further exploration.However,a comprehensive review of the discussion is still in absence.
