People’s Character: the Main Thinking Line of Ethnic Policy in the New Era

长期民族工作实践形成的中国特色解决民族问题的民族政策始终以人民性为思维主线。进入新时代,政策运用与人民主体地位相得益彰,人民性主线思维在民族政策中更加彰显。就民族政策本身结构而言,人民性是其内生的价值逻辑;就民族政策未来发展走向而言,人民性决定政策方向,提供践行途径和前提保证,是其一以贯之的根本原则;就民族政策的目的实现而言,创造各族人民向往的美好生活是民族政策的最终归宿。

The ethnic policy of solving ethnic problems with Chinese characteristics formed by long-term ethnic work practice always takes the people’s character as the main line of thinking. When China enters a new era, policy application and the people’s principal position complement each other, and the people’s main line of thinking is more prominent in ethnic policies. In terms of the structure of ethic policy itself, people’s character is its endogenous value logic. But in terms of the future development trend of ethnic policies, it is a fundamental principle that the people decide the policy direction, and provide the way and prerequisite to implement it. As far as the goal of ethnic policy is concerned, creating a better life for people of all ethnic groups is the final destination of ethnic policy.
