To the Editor:More recently,the ongoing dissemination of the novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is posing an unprecedented threat to global healthcare systems1,2.Since the outbreak,COVID-19 has escalated to well over 24,775,000 cases and caused over 837,000deaths worldwide by August 29,2020.Angiotensin converting enzyme 2(ACE2)has garnered widespread interest as the receptor for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(S ARS-CoV-2).
