摘要
元话语影响或调节话语的理解方式,进而会在交际语境中产生特定的交际效果。当前的元话语研究中涉及的语用功能主要包括身份建构、立场表达、语用调节等,但鲜有研究关注其潜在的形象管理功能。本文采用定性分析法,探讨学术场景中专家自我表述时使用的发话人元话语,剖析其运用相关元话语背后的形象管理及其可能动因。本研究不仅可以拓展元话语的功能范围,而且可以深化交际者形象管理的话语研究。
Metadiscourse influences or regulates the interpretation on discourse and generates certain communicative effects in the interactional contexts.While previous studies on the pragmatic functions of metadiscourse involve identity construction,stance presentation,pragmatic regulation,etc.,few have attempted to discuss its potential function of image management.By conducting a qualitative analysis of addresser metadiscourse used by experts for self-representation in academic setting,this study aims at analyzing its image management function and revealing the possible motivations behind.It could not only extend research on the functions of metadiscourse,but also enrich discourse studies on interlocutors’image management.
