Ophiocephalus Argus, also known as"hei yu"and"wu yu",is mainly distributed in the Yangtze River Basin and the north to Heilongjiang. The mineral content of ophiocephalus Argus seems to be relatively high, especially calcium, iron, zinc and other elements. The extract of ophiocephalus Argus is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which play an significant role in the regulation of prostaglandin synthesis and affect the inflammatory response and fibrosis process in wound healing. The amino acids rich in ophiocephalus Argus, such as proline, lysine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid and glycine, also contribute to wound healing.Compared with the untreated group, the experimental animals treated with the extract showed significantly less swelling of the joint soft tissue, indicating that the snakehead fish has a certain anti-oxidation and anti-inflammatory effect. The effect of uterine wound recovery was significantly enhanced in women who took Post Lower Segment Caesarean Section.Different extracts from ophiocephalus Argus have different effects on cardiovascular system and nervous system, and their antidepressant effects may be related to 5-HT system and noradrenergic system. Therefore, ophiocephalus Argus has a wide range of medicinal value and auxiliary treatment.
