China,a country far away, had always fascinated Tania Iancu. As a child,it was like entering a fantasy world every time her father,Dr David Iancu, opened a box full of Chinese objects. As if by magic, her father would pull out a gold medal and told her it had been conferred on him by the Chinese army;or a pair of ivory chopsticks and demonstrated how to use them;or a lion-shaped jade seal and taught her to write the Chinese name“Yang Ku”.There were numerous others in the box, each with a vivid story.
