孙毓修《中国雕板源流考》述略

A Brief Account on the Research of the History of Chinese Woodblock Printing by Yuxiu Sun

孙毓修《中国雕板源流考》是中国最早的版刻学史专著之一。此书1918年由商务印书馆正式出版之前,曾有两种版本,一是写于清末的初稿本,二是民国初年在商务印书馆《图书汇报》分期连载的版本,两者与通行本皆有异文,其异处颇值得关注。此外,初稿本书衣上题有"板本八考"及其细目,可以窥见孙毓修的研究旨趣不仅在于版本学,且已约略具备书籍史视角。本文拟分三节:首先梳理《中国雕板源流考》的各版本情况,并对其前后观点的变化稍作分析;其后,将《中国雕板源流考》与黄节《版籍考》、叶德辉《书林清话》两著略加比较,以见《中国雕板源流考》的学术价值所在;最后,结合孙毓修的部分未刊著述,勾勒其"板本八考"研究的大略。

Published in 1918 by the Commercial Press,The Research of the History of Chinese Woodblock Printing by Sun Yuxiu is one of the earliest academic monographs on the history of woodblock printing in China.Before publishing the book,Sun Yuxiu had finished the original manuscript in the late Qing Dynasty,then published a revised edition in a series on“Publishing Information”of the Commercial Press in the early years of the Republic of China.These two editions both show several interesting differences from the 1918 edition.Besides,Sun Yuxiu wrote“Eight Discussions on the Textual Research of Traditional Bibliography”on the cover of the original manuscript,which shows Sun Yuxiu approaches the bibliography from the perspective of the history of books.This article includes three parts.The first part introduces the three editions of The Research of the History of Chinese Woodblock Printing.The next part accentuates the academic significance of Sun Yuxiu’s work by comparing it with other bibliography monographs(e.g.,The Textual Research of Printed Books by Huang Jie and The Primary Study of Bibliography by Ye Dehui).The last part introduces some manuscripts of Sun Yuxiu’s unpublished works and their correlation to“Eight Discussions on the Textual Research of Traditional Bibliography.”
