油印与“众筹”:《四朝诗史》出版中的两个创举

Mimeograph and Crowdfunding: Two Feats in the Publication of the Poetry History of the Four Reigns

《道咸同光四朝诗史》甲、乙二集,是清末孙雄编辑的一部诗歌总集,收录了清代晚期道光至清末500多位诗人的诗作。从内容上看,这是一部未完成的著作,孙雄原计划编成甲乙丙丁四集,因辛亥革命爆发而中辍,仅完成一半。但从编辑出版过程看,这部书应在中国出版史上占有一席之地,孙雄采取的两个行动——在编纂前期使用蜡版油印初稿和在后期采取"预约集股"以"众筹"方式出版定稿,都是首开先河的创举。

Volume A and Volume B of the Poetry History of the Four Reigns of Daoguang,Xianfeng,Tongzhi and Guangxu are poetry collections edited by Sun Xiong in the late Qing Dynasty,which contains poems by more than 500 poets who lived between Daoguang’s reign to Xuantong’s reign in the late Qing Dynasty.Judging by the content,it is an unfinished work.Sun Xiong had planned to compile the four volumes of A,B,C and D,but he quitted because of the outbreak of the revolution of 1911,finishing only half of what had been planned.But speaking about the editing and publishing process,this book deserves a special status in the history of Chinese publishing.Sun Xiong’s two actions,namely,publishing the first draft in mimeograph in the early stage of compilation and publishing the final draft through options trading and crowdfunding in the later stage,are pioneering indeed.
