福建刻书史研究的新创获——读《福建历代刻书家考略》

New Achievements in the Research on the History of Book Engraving in Fujian——Reading A Research into Fujian Book Engravers over the Dynasties

福建在中国古代出版史上占有重要地位。方彦寿先生的《福建历代刻书家考略》是福建出版史研究的创获,在以往研究的基础上有重要突破。该书按照福建的行政区分为九卷,对812位宋代至清代在福建刻过书者,以及在外省刻过书的福建人,作了较为详尽的考证和介绍。该书为刻书家树碑立传,在文献学著作体例上是一个创新。在研究方法上,关注出版史上的"小人物"和出版细节,挖掘出了许多福建出版史的新材料,带给我们不少颇具启发意义的规律性认识。该书在人物、史实、版本考证方面发明颇多,厘清了前人的不少模糊和错误认识。文章亦就书中的一些具体问题提出了商榷意见。

Fujian holds an important position in the publishing history of ancient China.A Research into Fujian Book Engravers over the Dynasties authored by Mr.Fang Yanshou represents the latest achievement in the study of Fujian publishing history,and it has made important breakthroughs on the basis of existing studies.Divided into nine volumes according to the administrative division of Fujian,the book conducts a detailed research on and introduction to 812 book engravers from the Song to the Qing dynasties,including those working in Fujian and those native to Fujian but working in other provinces.The book glorifies the book engravers,which is an innovation in the style of philology works.In terms of methodology,the book has highlighted the nobodies and publishing details in the publishing history,unearthed many materials on Fujian publishing history unknown before and thus brought us a lot of inspiring understanding about the law governing things’development.The book has made quite some important discoveries regarding relevant people,historical facts and research on the editions;it has straightened out many ambiguities and misunderstandings.On top of all,the article has put forward opinions on some specific issues in the book.
