元代增修《本草》史事考

A Textual Research on the History of Materia Medica Revised and Added in Yuan dynasty

学界一般认为元代忽必烈至元年间曾由官方组织编纂过一部《大元本草》,但支持此观点的文献资料是有误的。忽必烈统一全国后,疆域远超前代,认为现有《本草》不仅原来就有不少遗漏,新纳入统治区域的周边地区药物也亟待补入,于是命许国祯等人牵头,召集全国各地良医进行了一次增修。文献中未见元代新撰一部《大元本草》。

The academic community generally believes that Kublai Khan had ordered the official organization to compile a book called Da Yuan Material Medica during the Zhiyuan period.But the literature supporting this view is wrong.After Kublai Khan unified the whole country,the territory far exceeded that of the previous dynasties,and he thought that not only were there many omissions in the existing Materia Medica originally,but also the medicines in the new surrounding areas needed to be supplemented.Therefore,Xu Guo-zhen and others were ordered to convene great doctors all over the country to carry out an additional repair.It is not found in the literature that the Yuan Dynasty rewrote Da Y uan Material Medica.
