The city museum is a window to get to know a city,linking the city’s history,present and future.The curation and design of the exhibition"Amsterdam DNA"is a huge success.The simple but full-featured exhibition narration and visual expressions complement the unique and distinctive personality of the city.This paper tries to sort out the curatorial design conception of the exhibition,and analyzes its curatorial theme idea,the organizational logic of the exhibition content,the creation of the corresponding architectural space,and the exhibition’s precise,intuitive and interesting visual communication design for the content.At the same time,the cross-media design based on digital technology allowes the museum to break through the physical limitations of exhibition space,extend itself to the virtual space and also the city,and interact with contemporary urban life.The interaction between the content planning and form design of the exhibition creates the splendid presentation of the"Amsterdam DNA"exhibition.Through the narration of the city’s history,the exhibition also accurately interprets the origin of the city’s unique personality.Through the analysis of the curatorial concept of"Amsterdam DNA"exhibition,the author hopes to bring some inspiration and thinking to the curation and design of the city history exhibitions in China.
