摘要
英国19世纪后期小说家哈代的小说《无名的裘德》几乎是一部"地点百科全书",其地点意义随人物内心感悟的不同而不同。地点与之密切关系,展现于人物的内心世界中,为人物的"意识形态"所建构。地点是政治的。本文拟从四个层面对这一问题进行研究:"裘德倍感喜忧参半的‘玛丽格伦’","裘德爱恨交加的‘基督寺’","表妹淑展现女性权力、裘德实现谋生及情爱的‘梅勒寨’","前妻肝肠寸断、裘德重温‘鸳鸯旧梦’并与表妹相依为命的‘奥尔布里坎’"。这一研究有助于积极推进"地点政治学"或文化地理学的文本化实践,有助于深入推进《无名的裘德》这一耳熟能详的作品的人物层面的精细化研究,也有助于推进英国文学中的心理小说研究。
The late-19^th century English novelist Thomas Hardy’s Jude the Obscure can be considered an "encyclopedia of places".The meanings of places depend on different psycho-perceptions of characters.The "intimacy" between places and characters lies in the inner world of characters,constructed by the ideology of characters.Places are all political.The present paper intends to make a systematic study of the significant issue from "Jude’s ‘Marygreen’ mixed with hope and fear","Jude’s‘Christminster’ incorporated with love and hate","‘Melchester’ in which the cousin Sue Bridehead exhibits feminism and Jude makes a living and courts Sue Bridehead",and "‘Aldbrickham ’ in which the former wife Arabella feels griefstricken and Jude re-experiences love relationships and works arduously with Sue Bridehead".This study may benefit the effective realization of textualization of"politics of places" and "geography of culture",the detailed reproduction of characters,and the forceful promotion of the psycho-fiction for English literature in general.
