摘要
当代传记小说创作基本沿着文本性叙写和物质性叙写这两条叙写路径展开,前者重视语言文本层面的戏仿和篡改,后者重视物质实在层面的还原和建构。作为在当代传记小说创作中较早尝试物质性叙写的作家之一,安吉拉·卡特聚焦于从身体的物质性维度叙写历史人物,一方面以叙写内在身体经验的方式展布历史人物的身体困境,还原历史事实;另一方面以叙写外部身体图式的方式打造历史人物的具身性,增补其历史维度的缺失:这种基于物质性叙写的创作方式不仅拓展了传记小说的创作路径,而且为“后理论”时代的传记写作提供了可资借鉴的经验和思路.
Contemporary biofictions are basically written along two paths:textual narrative and material narrative,the former emphasizing the parody and falsification of language and text,while the latter the restoration and construction of material reality.As an early writer of material narratives in biofictions,Angela Carter focuses on writing about the material dimension of the bodies of historical figures.On the one hand,Carter presents the physical dilemmas of historical figures through the narration of internal bodily experiences in order to restore historical facts.On the other hand,she creates the embodiment of historical figures through the narration of external bodily patterns in order to supplement their historical dimension.This way of writing materialistic narratives not only expands the creative path of biof ictions,but also provides experiences and ideas for biographical writing in the Post-Theory era.
