周作人与燕京大学的新文学教育

Zhou Zuoren and the New Literary Education of Yenching University

自1922年始,周作人执教燕京大学国文系,讲授新文学课程,并持续十年之久,为燕京大学的新文学教育做出了重要贡献。十年间,周作人开设新文学课程,进行新文学相关讲演,为燕京大学营造了一种有利于新文学发展与传播的氛围。周作人还不遗余力地培养新文学作家,扶持校园刊物,使燕京大学在新文学发展史上产生了一定的影响,这些都为之后新文学在燕京大学的发展奠定了基础。而周作人能够顺利地开展新文学教育,又与燕京大学的教会大学性质息息相关。

Starting from 1922,Zhou Zuoren began to teach new literature course in Department of Chinese Language of Yenching University for a decade with important contributions to the new literary education.The new literature course and some lectures on new literature by Zhou created the favourable environment for the increasing development of it in the decade.Zhou also made great efforts to support new literature writers and campus magazines,thus laying the foundation for new literature’s development.The exuberance of the new literary education is also attributable to the nature of Yenching University as a missionary university.
