谢肇淛《北河纪》及《北河纪余》文献价值略述

A Brief Account of the Literature Value of Xie Zhaozhe’s Beihe Ji and Beihe Ji Yu

北河为明代京杭运河的一段,南起山东鱼台,北至天津,全长一千余里,而以山东运河为主体。北河重要河段会通河水源不足,河情复杂,管理难度很大,而明代流传至今专论北河的著作数量较少。谢肇淛是晚明著名诗人,以博学广识、务实为官著称。他担任工部都水司郎中多年,驻守山东张秋,精心办理北河河务。在任期间,他结合北河实际,编写了《北河纪》和《北河纪余》。其中,《北河纪》按河程、河源、河工、河防、河臣、河政、河议、河灵八纪分设条目,结构安排妥帖严谨,所记史事确当有据;《北河纪余》则以运河为纲,辑录历代相关运河诗文。二书各有侧重,相互补充,保留了大量与山东运河有关的第一手工程及诗文资料,具有较高的文献价值。

Beihe is a section of the Beijing Hangzhou Canal in the Ming Dynasty.It starts from Yutai in Shandong Province in the south and ends in Tianjin in the north,with a total length of more than 1000 li,with the Shandong Canal as the main body.The Huitong River,an important section of the Beihe River,has insufficient water resources,complex river conditions,and difficult management,which is of great research value.However,the number of works on Beihe that have been handed down since the Ming Dynasty is small.Xie Zhao-zhe,a famous poet in the late Ming Dynasty,is famous for his erudition and pragmatism.He served as the Water Secretary of the Ministry of Works for many years,stationed in Zhangqiu,Shandong Province,and handled the Beihe River affairs meticulously.During his tenure,he compiled Beihe Ji and Beihe Ji Yu based on the actual situation of Beihe.Among them,Beihe Ji has separate entries according to the eight periods of river course,river source,river industry,river defense,river minister,river government,river debate and river spirit.The structure is well arranged and the historical events recorded are indeed well documented.Beihe Jiyu takes the canal as the key link,and compiles relevant canal poems and articles of previous dynasties.The two books have their own emphasis and complement each other.They retain a large number of first-hand engineering and poetry materials related to the Shandong Canal,which has high literature value.
