On the Issue of Horse Reward in the Northern Wei Dynasty

赏赐马匹是北魏国家赏赐制度的重要内容。从受赏赐的对象来看,可以分为对群臣的共同赏赐和对官员的单独赏赐。并确定只有五品以上官员才具有获得赏赐马匹特权的资格。北魏国家将授予马匹作为高规格的赏赐,因此,就使这种赏赐具有特殊性,进而也就将这种赏赐与国家重要的施政活动密切结合在一起。

The reward of horses was an essential part of the reward system of the Northern Wei Dynasty.It fell into two categories,common reward to the courtiers and the individual reward to the officials respectively.Only senior officials(equivalent of a mayor)or above were qualified for that.In the Northern Wei Dynasty,it was highly valued.Therefore,this type of reward was special,closely combined with the important administrative activities of the country.
