Research on the Tibetan Army’s Military Training in Gyantse

藏军改革是十三世达赖喇嘛在西藏实施"新政"的重要内容。英印政府趁机插手西藏军事事务,派遣军官在英国驻江孜商务卫队营地训练藏军。1915至1950年西藏地方政府陆续派遣藏军赴江孜接受军事训练,其间曾一度出现过训练中断现象,后又得以恢复,但训练人数大减。江孜军事训练基地是藏军培训的重要场所,较大地提升了藏军的训练水平和军事技能,但同时深深打上了英帝国主义的烙印,培植了一批"亲英"青年军官。

After the year of 1912,the 13 th Dalai Lama carried out"New Deal"in Tibet.The reform of the Ti-betan army was an important part of the new deal.The British India government took the opportunity to intervenein Tibet’s military affairs,and officers were sent to train Tibetan troops at the British commercial guard camp inGyantse.From 1915 to 1950,the Tibetan local government successively sent Tibetan troops to Gyantse for mili-tary training.During this period,the training was interrupted for a time,and then it was restored.But the numbersof training personnel were greatly reduced.Gyantse military training base was an important place for Tibetan ar-my training.It has greatly improved the training level and military skills of the Tibetan army,but at the same time,it had been deeply branded with British imperialism and cultivated a number of"Pro-British"young officers.
