新中国成立初期,信阳地区发生的模范战士宋胜元死亡的医疗事件充分暴露了信阳地区医疗行业存在的党组织弱化、缺乏为人民服务的思想、工作作风脱离人民群众等诸多问题,严重影响了新生人民政权的形象。信阳地方党组织和政府对“宋胜元事件”进行介入,从思想上、组织上和作风上深入整顿改造,塑造了“人民医院为人民”的良好形象。

In the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the death of Song Shengyuan,a model soldier in Xinyang area,fully exposed many problems in the medical industry in Xinyang area,such as the weakening of the Party organization,the lack of the thought of serving the people,and the detachment of the work style from the people,which seriously affected the image of the new people’s regime.The local Party organization and government of Xinyang intervened in the"Song Shengyuan"incident,and thoroughly rectified and reformed the people’s hospital in terms of ideology,organization and style,thus shaping a good image of the people’s hospital.
