The Circulation of An Old Mobile Phone:A Cultural Interpretation of Digital Integration of the Elderly

文章以家庭传播为主要视角,通过质性研究方法,观察一个城郊大家庭中爷爷奶奶数字融入的具体过程。文章以家庭中一部旧手机的三次流转为线索,勾勒出爷爷奶奶从接触到成瘾、断连以及重新进入数字媒介与生活的动态过程,呈现出家庭作为中间点,与个人与社会三者在老年人数字融入过程中的位置与意义。家庭不仅提供了促进和完成老年人数字接触与融入的合适环境,也为社会提供了理解和帮助老年人实现数字融入的有效途径。

From the perspective of family communication and through qualitative research methods,this paper observes the specific process of digital integration of grandparents in a large suburban family.It outlines the dynamic process of digital media life of the elderly in the family,which are from exposure to addiction,disconnection to reentry and highlights three factors in the process of digital integration of the elderly--families,individual members,and the society,with families as anchors.The paper suggests that families not only provides a suitable environment to promote and complete the digital contact and integration among the elderly,but also provides an effective way for society to understand and help the elderly to achieve digital integration.
