Even today, And Quiet Flows the Don is still an epic work. From 1925 to 1940, for 15 years, Mikhail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov had been writing this novel. We don’t know how much struggle he had to go through to complete this magnificent work, as he only attended to school for four years and never received formal writing training.
