The Avant-garde Literature Spirit and Today’s Life

中国古典文学之所以魅力绵长,是因为它们见证了古典时代的离乱兴衰。它们展现的人之为人的处境,是那个时代的先锋,这种先锋性使得传统起死回生。作为文学先锋,鲁迅在总体视野下精确地描述我们的自身面目,创作出孔乙己、阿Q等人物形象,将传统中国人送往通向现代性的道路上。我们当今的文学写作,往往无法与我们的时代、人事相互印证,也无法有效获得一个时代内部的人格力量。这既是因为当今生活的碎片化和同质化,也是由于我们缺乏一种将自身感受作为感知生活最敏感的神经、将自身体验作为一种文体来建立的先锋精神。我们可以利用先锋文学精神来突破日常生活的碎片化和同质化,从而将这些破碎的处境凝聚起来,突破文体标准的负担,完成作品在文本和现实上的统一、美学和生活上的统一。

Chinese classical literature is full of charm for they witnesses the weal and woe in the classical era.The human conditions reflected in these works make them pioneers of their eras and their avant-garde nature brings traditional works back to life.As a literary pioneer,Lu Xun accurately describes Chinese people in a view of integral inspection,creating characters such as Kong Yiji and Ah Q,and leading traditional Chinese people to the road to modernity.The current literary writings are often unable to keep pace with our times and people,nor can they effectively acquire the internalized personality power of our eras.That is because today’s life is fragmental and homogenized and we lack the avant-garde spirit to perceive life with the most sensitive nerve,our own feelings,and to establish a style with our own experience.The avant-garde literature spirit can help us break the limits of fragmentation and homogenization of daily life,condense those broken fragments and get rid of the burden of the standard of styles,thus reaching works’unity both in text and reality and in aesthetics and in life.
