说“馀音绕梁”——兼谈词义理解中的模棱两可现象

成语“馀音绕梁”的“馀音”,人们通常都理解为“尾音”,是错误的。“馀音”就是美音,形容声音婉转悠长。“馀”因为食物充足义而引申出美好义,可以形容或修饰许多事物。由此也说明词义理解中有模棱两可的情形。

“Yuyin”(馀音)in the idiom“Yuyin raoliang”is misapprehended as the sound in the end.Actually it should be understood as the beautiful sound.“Yu”(馀)originally means the abundance of food,from which derives the meaning of beautiful.It can describe and modify many things.
