“祁连山”又称作“天山”的语言学证据

A Study on the Linguistic Connection between“Qilian Shan”and“Tian Shan”

“祁连山”为什么称作“天山”,前人有多种解释。清人都说“祁连”是“天”的缓读。本文据相关语料认为“祁连”是“乾”的缓读。“祁”字在文献中或音转为“时”,或作异体“祈”,或误作“初”“析”“折”等,不可不辨。

Previous research has provided many explanations for why“Qilian Shan”is called“Tian Shan.”Commentators during the Qing Dynasty all agree that“qilian”is a slow reading of“tian.”This paper argues that“qilian”is a slow reading of“qian”based on a relevant corpus.In the literature,the character“qi”is either converted into“shi,”used as a variant of“qi,”or mistakenly used as“chu,”“xi,”“zhe,”etc.Studying this character can help us to better understand the meaning of“qilian.”
